Death,
was the collapse of his dreams and the death of all his hopes.
He was dead yet alive, walking lifeless in his dark days.
no sunshine but gloomy nights all day everyday.
Every breathe he took was getting
heavier by the minute and piercing the silence of the night,
the eerie silence that mimicked that of the graveyard,
that silence that hang between the minute and the next,
and with every step he took, the stillness of the moment quaked.
His feet were sore but there was no place he could seek solace.
In his path,
life had laid rocks and thorns but he never gave up
because he knew somewhere along he would get to the greener grass
and there he could get all the rest he ever needed.
The spirit of perseverance,
that’s what it is called.
He continued walking barefooted and all sore through his space in life.
He wiped every blood tear with his tattered cloth which barely covered his manhood.
What more he got?
He got one life, one night and it was supposed to be calm and benign
but he never felt that.
Never.
The harsh winds howled at him and tossed him into his grave.
On his tombstone it was written,
'Life is never fair in one way or the other'
Some things are never meant to be…
That's how life is.
