Love’s Story...

She was Love,
by name and in person.
A simple lady of delight and full of character.
She knew exactly what to say and how to say it,
and she knew exactly what to do and how to do it.
She walked earth like she had never felt pain,
disappointments or failure….
like she had it all good in life,
which really wasn't how it had appeared.

One incident conjured up a whole bunch of suppressed memories.
Memories she fought months to forget…
Stale and unpleasant memories.
What happened?
She bumped into the man who used to be her all and now is __
the blank space in her life.
That blank space which almost scored her an F in life, not far from Fiasco.
Her unsightly past came staring at her right in the face,
turning her pale like she was just drained out of blood.

She remembered that night.
That night when she felt nothingness once again in her life,
that same feeling that took over her  life when her parents died.
It all had come back once again that night….
The feeling of being deserted in life
with nobody to depend on….
She thought of how she had lived down-hearted
and lonely for a very long time because of what happened that night.
It pretty much affected her latter relationships so much
she could hardly trust another man….

She remembered that night.
That night when he decided to end it all.
a decade and a year ago.
With no good reasons given,
He just walked out from
what they had built together, the relationship.
He just decided to abandon
what they had for each other, the Love.
He just chose to turn his back on her
what he had wished and worked real hard to get, being together forever.

For two whole minutes or maybe more,
they both stood there like someone had hit the pause on their lives.
Just staring at each other mutely
it was a moment…
and she didn't know whether it sparked off
excitement or it triggered the anger she had harbored against him for such a long time.

They came to a realization of how time flew by,
how time flew by on wings…

How he felt?
He was really apologetic, the feeling he had had ever since he left her
and up to that minute, he still never forgives himself for the decision he made.
Would you blame him?
They were very young, barely 17
and he was scared about the whole tight relationship
they had created….
He felt like he was becoming a cage around her,
restraining her from exploring other aspects of life.
-
Was he selfish?
He wanted her to go out there, do something new,
probably sow their wild oats.
There was no other way he could have best broken up with her
than what he had done that unforgettable night.
Deep within he knew he had hurt her.
He felt the same way too…
It was the hardest thing he ever did in his life….
and now he is back to straighten things up.

She was so confused. She was startled.
She knew after all these years, she still had some feelings for him
but was it right to give him the chance after he suddenly turned selfish and cold that night?
Lost in a world where she could neither turn nor move forward,
something told her she was making a mistake talking to him,
and the other told her she should give him a chance,
if only she still felt something for him.
She loved him.
She hated him.
How could this possibly be?
It felt like reliving a day in the past…
And then the tears started dripping down her cheek,
Uncontrollable tears…
She could hardly hold them back
and he felt like he was tearing her apart with his presence and his words…
but it would be worth it rather than walking out on her again like a wuss.
He tried consoling her,
He hugged her,
He tried kissing her on the lips
but she gently turned away.
He knew he deserved anything, even a slap in the face.
He went down on his knees…
He told her how sorry he was

She couldn't think straight,
She could not even say a word to him
because every time she tried, she ended up crying more.
' Do you deserve me?
' Do you deserve Love?
She forced the words out of her mouth.
' i cant do this,…being with you.'

She run away from him
to where ever her legs could carry her.
And finally when she couldn't run no more
to 'God knows where' she tried running to,
she just laid on the soft grass beneath her feet
and then swore a voice spoke to her

'One is a lonely number...
a man, a woman.
Rekindle the torch….
Two is just right.
Get together as a couple'.

And she turned around and ran back to him.
You tell me how he felt when she jumped into his arms.
Tell me how she felt when he caressed her back like a baby
and then planted his lips on hers.
Tell me how that felt.
